Testimonials
Jay,
I cannot begin to tell you what an impact you and your staff have had on our family. I remember the day I had to move my mother from another facility. I got three recommendations that NHC was the “best in Chattanooga.” Not only has that proven to be true, I was totally amazed by the love and support that came our way from your staff and Hospice. The presence of God is so real at NHC you can almost touch it. The nurses and CNA’s at Station 3 were wonderful to Mom and offered such comfort during her last days.
Jay, thank you again. If you ever need a recommendation for NHC, please call me.
Sincerely,
Janice

Mr. Nason:
I just wanted to take a minute to thank NHC for the care my mother received while there. The staff was most kind and caring, not only to her but also to me. Wanda Ballard was especially caring of her, along with Helen Cox, Sandra Fortson and Chris Myers.
Thank you again from her entire family.

Dear Sir:
Recently it was my special honor to be cared for in your outstanding facility. While there I was served by the kindest, most dedicated people to be found anywhere. The CNAs, Nurses, Physical and Occupational Therapists, Physicians Assistants, Physicians, Housekeeping Staff, Dietary Staff, respiratory Therapist, Social Workers, Office Staff, and Maintenance Personnel were all dedicated to giving the best service possible to those in their care.
Thank you for your kindness and God bless you all.

Dear NHC Staff,
Thank you for all the care you provided my dad during his time here. From the time he needed help until the time he thought he no longer needed help. Whether you gave medicine, water, milk, ice cream or ice, treated a wound, shaved him, directed him when he was lost, reminded him when it was time to go to the dining room, encouraged him to participate in activities, helped him clean up a mess or anything, you helped me take care of him. God bless you all.

Dear Mr. Nason,
This letter to you is of my observation of activities as NHC as follows:
- Upon entering NHC I stopped and backed up and entered again, and I could smell nothing. Most nursing homes, you enter and smell it.
- The telephone receptionist asked me if I needed help or assistance, and I stated to her where my mother was. She explained to me very nicely where her room was located. She was so nice and her tone of voice was soft and she was dressed very nicely.
- Walking to my mother’s room, the floors were clean and I got no dust from the railings on my hands. I was really surprised, I just smiled.
- Mother’s room was so clean and the bathroom also, the bed was nicely made and flowers on the window sill. The corners in the room were clean and the restroom did not smell. And mother is happy at 102 years old. I set the alarm off on mother’s bed, an accident, and there was a very quick response by a medical person. Ms. Laura Douglas explained to me how this alarm system works and I thanked her for her explanation. While I was there I observed her in the caring for my mother and I know she really cares about my mother.
- I told Mother I was going to get something to eat and I asked at the nursing station where I could find something to eat and I was escorted to the cafeteria and I couldn’t believe what I saw. It was like walking into a fancy restaurant and the food was excellent and the people sitting there spoke to me.
- I also was introduced to my mother’s caseworker, Ms. Catherine Barnett who explained to me about mother so nicely and I thanked her for her kindness.
I wish to express my sincere thanks to you for the serious medical care my mother is receiving as a patient at NHC. All this good work reflects on your leadership, which is outstanding. I am so thankful for such a beautiful place where my mother can be cared for with love and kindness.
Respectfully,
Charles

To the NHC Staff,
I most definitely would recommend NHC to others. Everyone from receptionists to CNA’s, nurses, etc., could not have been more caring and professional. It was a very difficult choice for me to make, but we had many people tell us how great the facility was and we found that to be true. Your staff, as well as hospice staff, really bowed to my mother’s needs as well as our family’s.
Thank you,
Linda

Dear NHC,
Everyone at NHC we met was very professional and at the same time very caring and compassionate. Rhonda Wade in the Finance Department deserves special recognition. She helped me figure out how to deal with Medicare and Medicaid and was always available when I needed assistance. The relationship between NHC and Hospice of Chattanooga was a true blessing. The cooperation between the staffs was so good, it seemed they were all one. This is a benefit beyond value to a family in a situation like ours.
Gratefully,
Frank

Dear NHC,
Following an amputation of my right foot I was in dire need of a rehab hospital. After my operation my family and I pushed our insurance company to send me to Siskin facility. The insurance denied me access and we were dismayed by what seemed to be a “snap” judgment. We were given other choices including your facility. We elected your hospital and it was a good choice. I was there about six weeks and no hospital experience could have been better. The orderlies waited on me day and night and were willing to do anything I asked. They would stop whatever else they were doing to give me the requested assistance and did it with a smile. There were too many of these helpful people for me to list, but it was virtually everyone I came into contact with.
As I work toward getting a new prosthesis, I needed specialized therapy and I must give Shane and his department a lot of credit for making the transition from wheel chair invalid to fully functioning individual go smoothly. You have a truly excellent staff of therapists!
The food was extremely good and modestly priced. Meals were well planned and offered a wide variety. It was very nice to be able to invite guests to join me in the dining room.
No one likes being in a hospital, but my experience at NHC was actually enjoyable and I would recommend your facility to anyone!
Thank You,
Chester
To the staff at NHC:
Our family member resided at NHC for four years. Jamesetta Sexton and Tasha Rooks were her primary CNA’s. Each took excellent care of her. Our entire family is very appreciative of the care rendered by them and other staff members.
Thanks!
Charles
To Rhonda Wade, Denise, and Jay Nason,
A special thanks to Rhonda Wade who was so helpful in financial matters and Medicare/Medicaid. She took care of all of our needs with a smile. A special thanks to Jennifer Lewis who took care of him every day for almost a year and even the day he passed away.
Also thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga and even the chaplain who accompanied the body to the hearse.
Also want to thank Denise in the dining room who served him and his family for almost six years faithfully and cheerfully. And finally, Jay Nason, the Administrator who made all things possible, helping and serving our family.
Thank You,
June
Dear NHC,
Thank you so much for the way you cared for my mother. Before she became a patient I was pleased with both my personal walk through and by asking others. I couldn’t go visit her every day, but I was never worried. I know she was well taken care of. If anyone asks, NHC will be my recommendation.
Cordially,
Vicky
Dear Staff,
NHC Chattanooga without a doubt was the best choice for healthcare facilities we could have made. The nurses on station #3 (and CNA's) were outstanding. My dad loved everyone of them. The social worker, Catherine Barnett, became like a family member to us. With my family living so far away, she made sure we were apprised of his well being. She along with Ilene Grubb (nurse) Mary McCoy (CNA) Angie (CNA) were my dad's favorites and are to be commended on their professionalism and passion for taking care of my dad. (Pappy).
Thanks for everything, Tom

Dear Jay,
You should be so proud of your facility. Everyone seems to be on the same mission-caring lovingly for those who can't help themselves. I am hesitant in naming names of those that were special (especially since it was over a 9 year period), but in recent years: Franke, Yolanda, Mary Wood, Denise, Hughie & Susan in activities. The hairdressers who did a lovely job on Mama's hair. Rhonda who was always pleasant talking about MONEY!! And of course, you-the leader of this competent group. Thanks again for all you did.
Sincerely, Fran
To the staff at NHC:
We would like to thank you for the wonderful care you provided to dad in the final weeks of his life. You gave him the necessary support for any potential recovery, and when it became clear that recovery was not destined to be, you kept him comfortable so that he was in peace. Since we come from a background of healthcare, we know that your facility and staff are exceptional.
Sincerely, Jill and Bob
The facility
is better on every level than my prior experiences elsewhere. The staff is upbeat. They solve problems, they communicate with the family at every opportunity. We have been very pleased. Having worked in a hospital ober 30 years I have never experienced the standard of care, professionalism, and sincerity that my father received at NHC Chattanooga. I had personal contact with many employees from Jay Nason to housekeeping; no one failed to impress me. To me everyone went beyond what is expected of them. I also found the employees had great respect for Jay Nason.
Ann
To everyone at NHC,
We are very grateful for the care and love given to our loved one during her time there. May the Lord bless all of you for the help you are to so many people.
Sincere thanks,
Henry & Jean
Dear NHC,
Although mom's time with you was short-our family appreciates EACH ONE OF YOU tremendously. God has a special reward for each of you.b Thank you ALL from the bottom of out hearts.

Susan, Theresa, and Robert
Dear Jay,
My sister and I want to express our sincere thanks to you and the entire staff at NHC for the compassionate and professional care given our father. From my first meeting with you to Dad's passing, I knew we were blessed to have Dad cared for by everyone with whom he came into contact at NHC. Having worked in the same hospital as a medical technologist for 36 years, I know
what is expected of out responsibility to the patient; your staff went beyond that level of expectation. I have never seen the level of caring that I came to experience at NHC. It far excelled any nursing home I have ever visited in my lifetime. You and your team of caregivers should be commended.
Our gratitude goes out to you, as administrator, to the nurses, CNA's, therapists, social workers, housekeeping, and dietary. I know I wasn't able to be present every day and meet all Dad's caregivers, nor know the caregivers on the evening and night shifts. But I know you all had a part in making my father's life as comfortable as possible. Thank you to those whose names I can remember and, to those I cannot remember, forgive me, for you know who you are: Darci, karen, Martha, Sharron, Laura Douglas, Shanna, Catherine, Sasha, Nichol, Jowanda, Kim, ToeToe, Dorthy, Cindy, Helen, Regina, Roma, Laura Daniel, Candace, Johnnie, Tonya, Maribel, Cindy, Shane, Renee. If I failed to mention your name and you touched my father's heart, if only for a second, know that we are forever grateful.
I would never hesitate to recommend the staff and services of NHC to others who need excellent care for their loved ones. You will all hold a special place in our hearts for your kindness and professionalism during a most difficult time in our lives.
Sincerely,
Ann and Dixie
NHC,
Thanks to all of you for the care you gave our mom during her stay at NHC. Everyone was very caring especially Darcy Sharon and the therapy department.
N.H.C. Nursing Staff,
Just want to take a minute & say thanks for all you have done to make our mom's recovery so easy for her & us! It has been slow but without your help we couldn't have done it. Each of you have played a special role and we are so grateful.
Elliott
NHC,
I have worked in a hospital 36 years in Louisiana. I have also been in nursing homes in Louisiana and Mississippi. I have never come close to experiencing the high quality care of NHC Chattanooga. I find such peace and comfort knowing my father is in a nursing facility of this caliber. The staff from administrator to maintenance is friendly, caring, professional and go beyond what seems to be their job description.
Anne
Dear staff,
